Locally-owned and established in 1989, La Crete Sawmills Ltd. specializes in Lumber production of spruce and aspen. With a dedicated staff of 110 full-time staff we strive to produce a quality product to meet your high standards. Our mills annual capacity is 64 million board feet. The lumber mill operates a 2-line sawmill with 2 dry kilns, a planer and remanufacturing facility.

The wood pellet mill started up in January of 2003 in a new 17,600 square foot building and capable of producing up to 35,000 tons of pellets annually. Used as a heating fuel in stoves and boilers. Pellets are also used as Animal Bedding.

Northern Alberta has excellent quality white spruce, known for its tight grain and light color. There is a large population of high quality Aspen in the area allowing us to harvest a naturally renewable resource with a quick re-growth rate.
